Little is known of Blade's early life, and he is very reluctant to divulge much. He is very obviously not of Atlantean parentage, with a full head of jet black hair and darker skin than most. When Shihan and Maria arrived in the St. Moiraine's Orphanage, they found him to be a surly and isolated child, who had been taken off the streets. The three became friends after a time, and only the fact that Blade was a runaway has surfaced. Unlike most of the orphanage children, Blade was imbued with a confidence which made him a hit in school and with the ladies, although his brash nature was lessened by… extracurricular activities.
A keen fighter, Blade decided to enroll in the Warrior Studies program at Atlantis University, using the scholarship available to orphans who showed large amounts of promise. Since then, Blade has risen to the top of the class due to his unyielding self-belief and confidence. He has also gained a love-hate relationship with Belle, their similar personalities clashing with each other easily.
