Link
A link is the term for an immaterial flow between the physical and spiritual, creating or enhancing a person’s spiritual awareness or magical ability. It can vary from the weak to the very strong, such as the Hope Link (which also explains how a link works). A spiritual conduit, or Link, allows an object or a spiritually aware being to influence a greater area of the physical realm using its imprint on the spiritual realm. In the case of objects, a Faerie would have to create a loop in the object’s imprint upon the spiritual realm, allowing it to have some control over how the influence is used, otherwise it would simply dissipate back to the spiritual realm. For most relics, the link is tiny, sufficient enough to make fuel burn. Others have several large links which allow balanced control over a large area. For a person, they must have an innate spiritual awareness, whether the person is aware of it or not. For a conduit, it will push them into awareness, allowing them weak control. For mages, a link enhances the awareness, allowing them greater control over a wider area. This is why great care is taken by Faeries to make sure that Links do not fall into human hands.
