King Raldor Rossek II (2954 - today)

Born into the small house of Rossek that controlled the county capital of Rosford, Raldor was at first glance nothing new to the house. He was not an extraordinary scholar or lawman, nor was he renowned for his strength and skill in swords. He was tended to prefer wandering the estates that were built upon Matlock woods, exploring the ruins from before the War of Mages.

Even when his father died from Black Fever in 2970 YA, he had little power, a regent being appointed by the damners to advise him. He continued to roam his estates in thought, often going missing for months at a time. In 2974 YA, Lord Raldor returned from his latest excursion and threw out his regent. He started laying down plans that would rebuild Rosford and ultimately Rossek itself. He began going to the triad court in 2977 YA, and was essential to creating several bills that struck at crime within Tanor.

When Apollyon returned in 2988 YA, the cult devastated Durian as the armies scrounged from across Neon defeated the resistance by sheer numbers. At its head, it was said, rode Apollyon himself, and for a year the army marched cross Durian, leaving cities burning and estates ravaged. The current King led the first wave of resistance and was slaughtered, and soon there was no time to appoint a successor. By the war’s peak in at the beginning of 2989, the army had ravaged across Tanor, leaving blue blood destroyed in its path.

As Apollyon crossed the border and aimed for the hills of Irontop, it met the final resistance, an army of Barbarian, Atlantean and Tanorian soldiers led by Lord Raldor Rossek. Apollyon faltered, and was harrowed out by the coalition, keeping it away from the cities. As it entered the dark plains that surround Fren, the army dwindled and splintered as Basteti armies smashed into them. Apollyon himself fled to Fren, as faeries descended to deal with the rogue mage. Yet it was Lord Raldor that killed Apollyon, returned to the triad court with the magic-rotten head with the rusted black helmet. The houses of Tanor appointed him King for that, as no other heirs could be found after Apollyon’s slaughter. Since then, King Raldor Rossek II has ruled with a tight hold on the reins, squeezing Apollyon out from where it lies, focusing inward as it does. He has been married twice, with three children from the first marriage.
