Tower of Hope

A large relic built in the early years after the death of Anahita, in order to contain the volatile Hope Link (see Hope Link). It used the link to keep a mile wide lump of rock floating on the water, a task that would keep it calm and safe. The actual link was placed within the tower, and required extensive knowledge of the workings of the relic to retrieve it. At all times, two faeries and two humans kept watch in the tower, which became the center point of Atlantis and a popular attraction for its inhabitants. A large park surrounded the tower, which marked the boundaries of total control for the link. Beyond that, the link was dedicated to keeping the rock afloat.

Unlike the Relic Wall, the tower was not given human-analogue controls, so that a mage could not seize the Hope Link easily. This is the main reason most claim that it was a mage that destroyed the link in 3002 YA, as a large amount of planning went into the terrorist attack. Currently, the tower lies a mile above Atlantis, with a small remnant of the Hope Link keeping the tower afloat. A small trading post lies on the coast of the isle, allowing any boats with goods bound to Atlantis to get them there (the cargo is retrieved, then tied to weights where it sinks down to the city). Very few dare to tread the contorted landscape that surround the tower after the city of Atlantis was ripped from beneath it.
