Calendar,

The current Neon calendar is known as the Torigan Calendar, after its creator, Michael Torigan. The timekeeper of the Lord of Tourchelle, he was frustrated by the variety of different calendars in use, many of them contradictory and muddled due to lost years in the War of Mages. Over a period of several years, he unified the main two calendars in use into his own, and petitioned timekeepers across the established lands to take it up. By 363 YA, the calendar was in major use across Theon and most Barbarian nations, and was gaining popularity in Myria. One Neon Year consists of 377 days, which is divided into 12 months of 31 days. Each month has three weeks of ten days, and at the end of each months there is a celebratory feast day. Additionally, several feast days are not a part of any month, such as Day of Hope and Requiem Night. Torigan began his calendar from when Anahita fell at Fren, naming it "Year of Anahita", an unusual mark of respect from a Tourchellian. It is currently the 3008th Year of Anahita. (More...)

The city is established above the wall fort, high on the hills enabling them to see any unwanted visitors for miles around.

Carrio, Theon

Population: 56,569 (Est. 2955 YA)

A small city on the trade route between Tourchelle and Alethion, it was one of the first cities to be established after Alethion, and so still serves a conservative Anahitan population.

The ocean west of Tanor and Bastet, east of Theon and Tekas, and south of the Nomadic lands which fish in its waters. Above it lies the cloud city of the Faeries, the Sustainers of humanity, who give the ocean its name.

Cerport,

Cerport, Rossek, Tanor

Population: 25,679 (Est. 2981 YA)

A small port on the south Rossek coast, Cerport used to bring in valuable fish and manufactured items into Rossek from Atlantis, it has faltered since Tanor ceased trade and concentrated on becoming self-sufficient whilst scrounging Apollyon from within.

Ceylon,

Ceylon, Ter’Ciel

Population: 76,267 (Est. 2955 YA)

Part of the main trading triangle between Ter’Ciel, Atlantis and Stoci, this city trades heavily in the tea leaves and matured cheeses that are farmed upon the Plains of Beond which lead to the summit of Ter’Ciel. Merchant trains run directly through the city from Kestra-Dahn to Kanchan, and onward by ships to Atlantis and Thessa, bringing valuable stocks of fish and grain back from the grand lands. The city has blossomed over a wide expanse of the plains, and is the only city apart from Richan not to build within mountain caverns.

Corinth,

Corinth, Bastet

Capital City

Population: 114,347 (Est. 2981 YA)

The capital city of Bastet and the last city to be established by Corin Ashana after wandering the desert for forty years, establishing links with the other six cities that had been set-up since the Bast Exodus in 1988 YA. Here, he set up the major government buildings, the Hall of Scalers, and the Grand Palace in which the High Chiefs live. Corinth is unique in that half of it is above ground, tending the harbor that ship goods in and out of Bastet.

Comolar,

Comolor, Ter’Ciel

Population: 38,762 (Est. 2955 YA)

A large mountain-city spread over several caverns and over-ground plains, it is famous for being the main source of lodestones for ship compasses, coining the phrase that all the compasses point to Comolor, instead of simply being pointed North. Several scholars have noted that at one point North must have been below Comolor for so much lodestones to be found there, yet currently the compasses still point North in Comolor - another phrase to express normality.

Crucés,

Crucés, Tekas

Population: 43,378 (Est. 2955 YA)

A small city on the trade route from Tourchelle to Springville, which is famous for the fish it catches on the River Kinkle.

Currency,

All of the Neon countries use the same type of currency, the mark. These coins will vary in value according to age, country, and type. For example, a Basteti gold mark from 1988 YA will be worth less than the same type of coin from 2888 YA, as there will be less gold in the coin. In general, there are six countries which make marks - Bastet, Tanor, Theon, as well as Ter’Ciel, Myria and Barbaria, the last being a small alliance between Stoci, Palmeria, Tekas, Mazda and Escher.
