King Raldor Rossek II (2954 - today)

Born into the small house of Rossek that controlled the county capital of Rosford, Raldor was at first glance nothing new to the house. He was not an extraordinary scholar or lawman, nor was he renowned for his strength and skill in swords. He was tended to prefer wandering the estates that were built upon Matlock woods, exploring the ruins from before the War of Mages. (More...)

Relic Wall

One of the largest relics in existence, surrounding the entire length of the Isle of Atlantis. 3 miles long and 3 yards thick, its large size means that the relic can be used to move anything within its borders, whilst keeping nearly anything out. This was used extensively as a safety net during the building of the towers in 1429 YA, and after the Hope Disaster was used to stop water from flooding the city. Whilst before this the wall could be easily controlled by a small team at each of the 4 check points (three on land, plus a lighthouse at the harbour), now several faeries carefully control the flow so that the water does not flood back.

Religion

Religion on Neon is mostly concerned with the worship of the Angels, whether it be the major religion of Anahitanism, or the minor religions within Palmeria. Several sects within Theon worship Beond, believing him to be the higher power, whilst others such as the Sect of Moiran practice belief in oneself and humanity. Several Theon sects have flourished in modern Atlantis and across Tanor, although most of the population are theistic and do not care for the Angels. All of the cities across Neon will have a Anahitan church, a sign on the effect the religion has had on humanity here.

Resita

Resita, Mazda

Population: 65,296 (Est. 2955 YA)

A large city built upon the trade routes between Kogram and Kreuo, forming the backbone of modern Mazda. The city is sited west of a large batch of hills that prove impassable due to their steep nature, formed as they were by a human Mage in 206 YA.

Richan

Richan, Ter’Ciel

Population: 87,230 (Est. 2955 YA)

Built upon a large hill on the Plains of Bounty, it started as the crossing ground between the Nomad-trade route of Lagiri and Nyalam as they traveled north, and the rice farmers of the surrounding paddy fields. These fields are flooded by a complicated irrigation system that is watered by the grand River Craven in the summer, and by the heavy rainfall in the winter. This has out-paced most of the more isolated upland fields, which simply grow the crops to survive.

Rosford

Rosford, Rossek

County Capital

Population: 89,349 (Est. 2981 YA)

Built upon several bridges that spanned the River Ross, Rosford was the first city established by the Nori immigrants known as the Myrian Group, after the ocean they crossed to reach Tanor. Found to the south west of the county, it is the main centre of commerce and control in West Rossek. The River Ross later surges down into a great delta that marks where on the coast Teshire and Rossek meet.

Rossek

Rossek, Tanor

County

The first county to be formed by the Nori settlers, part of the Myrian Group who crossed the Myrian Ocean in 1276 YA. Formed mostly of the peasant and farming community, the settlers spread outwards from their landing point in the South -East, until they met the rest of the settlers in the North and West of the country. The Consolidation of 1321-41 created the three counties, with the country capital of Tanor City at the center of the three county borders, meeting at the Royal Hills. (More...)

Rulich

Rulich, Escher

Population: 42,359 (Est. 2951 YA)

The largest harbour in Escher, Rulich regularly trades with nearby Kanchan and Atlantis for goods and is well known for chancing on trips to Alethion when the chance arrives. It has slowly grown to prosperity because of this, and has built several fortifications around the town in case of attack.

Rumspringa

A Cielian tradition that is growing in popularity in Barbaria, where young adults will visit nearby countries for a year. This acts as a rite of passage for the youth, as they learn to manage off the apron strings. A highly popular destination in the past decade has been to go to Atlantis, with many choosing to stay.
